Food, Music, beers and dive bars...

Started by four friends with a passion for food, music, beers and dive bars, Alby’s began in 2021 at the height of lockdown, when a couple of friends (one being a chef) found themselves with a bit more time on their hands…

With all music venues & dive bars closed for the foreseeable, this group of friends turned their hands to baking (what turned out to be) some pretty damn good sourdough bread.

After creating what was initially a bread delivery service to neighbours and friends in Kennington, the enterprise and excitement of it all carried on, for two years in fact with Alby’s eventually moving on to supply top restaurants, hotels & bars in soho, south and east London. As well as finding its first official premises at home in the Vauxhall Gardens Community Centre.

All things dough

After hosting several pizza nights in their Vauxhall bakery, it was clear they were onto something…

In 2022, they made the leap into New York style pizza (the best kind), opening up a pizza shop inside a local tap room in Vauxhall. Two rollercoaster years and nearly 100k slices later Alby’s Pizza now lives in North London with two sites, one in Finsbury Park and the other Kentish Town.

Characterised by 22” pizzas (yes they’re huge) and sold by the slice or the whole pie, Alby’s are all about simplicity; utilising the best quality ingredients, exciting specials and a unique dough that you won't find anywhere else…

I’ve loved this place ever since it was located in Vauxhall, and I keep coming back for more! I’ve visited five times already, and each time, the experience has been consistently great. The pizza here is by far my favourite in London — the quality, flavour, and fresh ingredients never disappoint.

Unbelievably delicious!! Coming from NYC I have a high standard for pizza, and Alby’s was - dare say it - even better?!! The cheese to sauce ratio was perfect, the pizzas were enormous, the pepperoni was on point, and the dipping sauces were a great complement.

Being a connoisseur of pizza and pizza-related food stuffs, I hereby declare this to be the best pizza I’ve had in London over the last 6 years of living here as of today’s date. Absolutely nails a NY slice. Excellent crust, crispy and flavourful. Thin dough with the perfect cheese/sauce/topping ratio.
